HungryPanda, the Perwyn-backed global leader in Asian food delivery, has announced that it has acquired Australian food delivery platform EASI and New Zealand Asian food delivery platform BUY@HOME.

These two transactions will help HungryPanda to improve its local operations, empower restaurants to achieve greater business success, and improve consumer experience by widening the choice of authentic Asian restaurants. Coming off the back of HungryPanda’s successful $130m fund raising in December 2021, these transactions further strengthen the business’s position to capture the huge overseas Asian food delivery market.

Founded in 2017, HungryPanda has become the largest overseas Asian food delivery platform in ten countries, operating across more than sixty cities. With these transactions, HungryPanda is now the Asian food delivery leader in Australia and New Zealand.

Founder and CEO of HungryPanda, Eric Liu said: “These acquisitions are an important milestone for HungryPanda in continuing to build the leading overseas Asian food delivery platform. By combining our world-class technology and delivery network with a wider coverage of restaurants we can now offer consumers, I am hugely excited about the future potential for our business in these important markets.”

Andrew Wynn, Founder and Managing Partner of Perwyn, said: “In December 2021, Perwyn led the $130 million Series D round in HungryPanda to strengthen its position as the leading specialist online food delivery platform serving Asian restaurants and populations overseas.  We are delighted with their speedy progress in that regard; in less than a month since that funding round closed, they have cemented their status as the Asian food delivery leader in Australia and New Zealand.  The growth sustained by Eric and his team prior to our investments in the business is clearly being sustained; and bolstered by new capital we look forward to HungryPanda’s next steps.”
